Sarah Beaulieu – Narrative Director of Assassin’s Creed Mirage – confirmed that Ubisoft’s new game will explore the Arabian mythology and also confirmed what kind of creatures is the one seen in the trailer of the game: it’s a djinnalso known as “genius” in Italian.

Beaulieu he wrote on Twitter: “The creature Basim sees in the Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer is actually a djinn (we call him “jinni”, using the Arabic word). I’ve seen your theories about him: tons of great ideas, but none it comes close to the truth. Don’t worry, you will soon meet our djinni…”.

Djinn are creatures born in Arab folklore. They are often related to the elements and can be benevolent as well as malevolent. Djinn have appeared in many media and in various formats, starting with Aladdin’s Genie of the Lamp and, citing a random video game, The Witcher 3, which in turn is connected to the story of Yennefer and Geralt’s meeting in the short stories originals.

We’ll have to see how in-depth the mythological side of Assassin’s Creed Mirage: it could be the fulcrum of the plot or just an add-on that embellishes the game and gives it its own style.

Among the other innovations revealed by Ubisoft, it seems that Assassin’s Creed Mirage aims to offer a parkour similar to Unity.
