According to the data reported by SensorTower, Call of Duty Mobile has recently exceeded quota 1.5 billion dollars of proceeds through microtransactions, reiterating once again the great success of the free-to-play shooter for iOS and Android.
The game is developed by TiMi Studios, authors of Pokémon Unite and Honor of Kings among others, and was released in October 2019. In May 2021, it reached 500 million downloads worldwide.
Also according to data from Sensor Tower, 2021 was the most profitable year for Call of Duty Mobile, with microtransaction purchases climbing 45% compared to 2020. At the end of last year, the game was 14th in the ranking of mobile games with higher revenues and third in the category of shooters, idetro to Garena Free Fire and PUBG Mobile.
The most profitable market for Call of Duty Mobile is the US, which alone accounts for 43% of total proceeds, for a total of 647 million dollars. Japan and China follow in second and third place respectively.
In the meantime, Activision is developing a new mobile game linked to its shooter brand, which will be Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, a version for iOS and Android of the famous free-to-play battle royale.
