The latest found of the anti-cheat system Ricochet’s Call of Duty: Warzone is meant for humiliate cheaters, making regular players immortal against their attacks. In fact, when hit by a cheater, the character is covered with a shield that bounces the shots.
Any system to make life harder at that is that the lowest form of videogame life is always welcome. You can see the shield in action in this video from youtuber TimTheTatman.
Unfortunately i ban they’re not very effective at making cheaters stop bothering other players, because creating new accounts is often really easy, especially in free-to-play titles like Warzone. So Activision with Ricochet is trying new ways to make him pass the desire to play.
In this case, when Ricochet locate a cheater on the server, activate the shield for regular players. According to what is written in the official post describing the novelty, on trial for a few days, there is no risk that the shield is used by mistake against regular players.
Activision has also warned cheaters that bans will begin to be enforced for the entire Call of Duty franchise, so no longer for individual games. Hence, misbehaving in Warzone or other titles in the series will remove multiplayer access from all COD, present, past and future. Not only that, because all those who try to disguise the hardware or their identity will also be banned indefinitely.
Cheaters are a big deal, especially for live service titles that thrive on their ability to keep players on servers. In fact, many players tend to abandon games when they feel they cannot play regularly due to these figures.
