Cyberpunk 2077 is the protagonist of the inevitable comparison video between versions PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One after the release of the long-awaited patch 1.5, also known as the “next-gen update”: what are the differences between the various versions of the game?
As we know, Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X introduces two graphics modesone at 4K and 30 fps with ray-traced shadows, the other at 4K and 60 fps without ray tracing, in both cases with dynamic resolution.
CD Projekt RED’s goal was clearly to bring the editions as close as possible PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to what is available on PC, although with all the distinctions of the case given the gap between the various hardware and the lack of a technology such as DLSS on consoles, which is the real problem at the moment.
However, the differences can also be seen with the naked eye: after the update on both PS5 and Xbox Series X | S the quality of assets has improved, uploads have become substantially faster and Night City appears more alive thanks to the presence of a greater number of NPCs .
Visual distance is also enhanced, while the frame rate it is anchored very solidly to the target, which as mentioned corresponds to 30 fps in the mode with ray tracing and 60 fps in the one without.
Still on the subject of ray tracing, the introduction of this technology on the rendering of shadows produces visible effects in certain contexts, given that precisely the shadows of the NPCs are projected on the ground in a realistic way and, in general, all objects seem to enjoy a greater thickness.
