Disney +the subscription video service of the famous film company, continues to grow year on year and has reached i 129.8 million subscribers in January 2022, proving a further increase on the results achieved in the same period of the previous year.
In January 2021, there were 94 million subscribers, therefore there was an increase of 37% which also led to 11.7 million more subscribers in the last fiscal quarter, against the 2.1 that had been collected in the last quarter of the previous year, demonstrating the new trend undertaken by the service recently.
As for the amount of users per geographical areathere is a certain balance between the US and other countries, with the former being 42.9 million and 41.1 million in Europe and other areas, while Disney Plus Hotstar, the brand used in India and Southeast Asia, currently has the largest number of subscribers with 45.9 million.
Netflix still remains a long way off with its 221.8 million subscribers, but it has to be said that it started well in advance of Disney Plus, which on the other hand got a noticeable acceleration in a very short period of time. With revenue of $ 21.82 billion and increases in general revenue, Disney plans future expansions with the service reaching 42 additional countries in the coming months, including new areas in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
