There TV series Of Halo produced by Paramount will do something that video games from Bungie and 343 Industries have never done in over twenty years: show the face of the Master Chief.
The confirmation came from Kiki Wolfkill, executive producer and head of transmedia of 343 Industries, during an interview with IGN, where he explained that showing the face of John-117 is a fundamental aspect of the show.
“We decided to tell a story of the character and a personal story. And once we really got into that story, it became clear that it was necessary to see the person in the armor and under the helmet,” says Wolfkill, adding that The producers of the Halo TV series are well aware that this decision will not be welcomed by everyone.
“You will see his face. For some people it is a moment they have been waiting for 20 years, for others it is something really hard to imagine. We absolutely respect both opinions, both of those who really want to see Chief’s face and those who they don’t want that. But by the nature of this story, it really seems important to connect with the Master Chief in a different way and that means showing his face. ”
So far, the face of Master Chief has never been shown in any game in the Halo series, for some it is one of the elements that make this character so fascinating. As we know the story told in the Paramount series will not be canonical, so it was legitimate to expect some freedoms in the script. However, a part of the fans of the brand will probably be against the choice to show the face of John-117, which as we know will be that of actor Pablo Schreiber.
We remind you that the first season of the Halo TV series will debut on March 24, 2022with the latter having already been confirmed by Paramount.
