From today’s Meta Connect also came the announcement of Meta Quest ProThe new virtual reality viewer of Meta which presents itself as a remarkable evolution in the line of headsets, positioning itself as a product high end also based on features and price.
The Meta Quest Pro will cost 1,799 euros in Italy (1,499 dollars in the USA), which places it very far from the consumer products seen so far such as Meta Quest and Meta Quest 2, which have decidedly lower prices.
On the other hand, it aims at a different and “professional” audience, as its hardware characteristics also demonstrate.
In addition to a design completely new that determines clear changes in terms of ergonomics, Meta Quest Pro focuses on both VR and AR, therefore providing “mixed reality” solutions between the two technologies, allowing you to work and try experiences of various types.
The headset enables real-time expression tracking, which will enable new ways of communicating within the virtual space in view of the metaverse as well.
Optically, the Meta Quest Pro uses new lenses patented pancake and optical technology that bends light inside the optical module, while the LCD screen offers a pixel density 37% greater than previous models and a color scale 1.3 times larger.
Also present new Meta Quest Touch Pro controllers and motion detection through 3 cameras and a Snapdragon 662 mobile processor for each controller, TruTouch haptic feedback for finger movement detection.

Meta Quest Pro is also completely backward compatible with Meta Quest 2 software, while using new controllers with more effective detection systems, as shown above, and built-in rechargeable batteries.
Also expanded the range for changing the interpupillary distance of the lenses, ranging from 55 to 75 mm, with various options for eye strain: completely unobstructed peripheral vision, partially obstructed (included) or total immersion (optional).
