A few hours ago the Twitter profile of Retro Studiosthe developers of Metroid Prime 4has been updated with a new banner starring Samus Aran, suggesting possible news coming for the highly anticipated new chapter of the series.
It has now been more than three years since the announcement of the total reboot of the development of Metroid Prime 4 for the Nintendo Switch and more than four from the original one. Since then the game has basically disappeared from the radar causing fans to worry, although a triple A project of this caliber necessarily needs long gestation periods.
The new banner adopted by Retro Studios’ Twitter profile portrays the silhouette of an unknown character, but one that clearly it is Samus Aranin the background of what looks like a long corridor of an alien structure.
A new banner certainly isn’t the most shocking news, but potentially it could be a pretty important positive sign. In fact, development houses often redesign their social profiles before announcing new projects or important news. In short, it is not excluded that Retro Studios is not preparing for one presentation for the public of Metroid Prime 4 in the near future. Fingers crossed.
Metroid Prime 4 is in development exclusively for Nintendo Switch. At the moment the game does not yet have an official release period, but given that the works have started completely from scratch in 2019 we will hardly see it on store shelves this year. More likely, rather, a launch in the course of 2023 or 2024.
