The Callisto Protocol is the protagonist of an interesting video diary realized by AMDin which the director of creative engineering Jorge Jimenez talks about technologies used in the game, which from a technical point of view promises a remarkable experience.
As reported some time ago, The Callisto Protocol supports ray tracing and elements of Unreal Engine 5, despite being a title powered by Unreal Engine 4. It is in fact a modified and enhanced version of the Epic Games graphics engine, and it is thanks to these tricks that it was possible to achieve unexpected results.
Jimenez in particular of the lighting system and how the shadows are projected on the elements of the scenario, in support of a direction clearly devoted to instilling fear in the player also through the contrasts between light and dark.
Ray tracing reflections have also been inserted, which means that we will see the silhouette of the protagonist of The Callisto Protocol reflected on certain surfaces or even we will be able to see the reflection of the elements of the setting on his pupils.
These are features that would not have been possible without the capabilities of the AMD Radeon 7000 series, Jimenez obviously says, however leaving us in doubt as to which of these solutions we will also find in the console versions of the game.
