During last night’s Japanese edition of Nintendo Direct, Square Enix has announced with a trailer and some pictures The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and PS5. It is a detective story with real actors that will be available starting from May 12th all over the world.
The trailer is at the head of the news, while the images you can see below:
Directed by Koichiro Ito, already known for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and produced by Junichi Ehara (NieR: Automata), The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story tells the story of the Shijima family and the strange deaths of its members. over the centuries.
The player will play the role of Haruka Kagami in search of material for a new novel, and will have to use her powers of deduction to find out what lies behind the various cases (four in total).
Directing the filmed sequences, which will make up most of the game, is Yasuhito Tachibana (The Naked Director). The game is set in different Japanese eras and will see the player busy first watching the movies and then gathering evidence and drawing his own conclusions.
It is certainly a curious and somewhat original title for a publisher like Square Enix. We will see what will come of it.
