Ubisoft And The Sandbox have announced a collaboration to bring the properties of the French publisher into metaverse, of course in the form of an NFT. We start with the Rabbids, but the project seems to have a much broader scope, given that there are hints of the arrival of other intellectual properties of the Assassin’s Creed company.
According to the announcement, Ubisoft will land in The Sandbox with its own estate, where it will offer interactive experiences. In addition, the characters and objects of the company will be available in voxel graphics to be incorporated into the works of the users, through the VoxEdit and Game Maker tools of The Sandbox.
Work on having voxel versions of the Rabbids they are already well under way, as shown in the video below.
Ubisoft is just one of The Sandbox’s many partners, which include franchises and celebrity names like The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Warner Music Group, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Richie Hawtin, The Smurfs, Care Bears, Atari, ZEPETO, and CryptoKitties.
Ubisoft’s interest in metaverses and NFTs is growing. This initiative comes a few months after the announcement of the Quartz platform, a platform dedicated to the NFTs of its games. The protests of the players and the internal criticism were of little use, therefore, because the French company continues on its way.
