THQ Nordic announced the acquisition of metricmindsa German firm specializing in animated content based in Frankfurt and opened in 2001. In the past he has collaborated in the realization of numerous projects of a certain importance, including Horizon Zero Dawn & Forbidden West and Dying Light.
The announcement was accompanied by an official press release, where the terms of the agreement are not detailed, but from which we learn that the acquisition includes the entire team of metricminds, which is now a 100% subsidiary of THQ Nordic.
The animation studio specializes in creating cutscenes, trailers, motion capture, keyframe animations, facial animations and in-engine cinematic sequences. metricminds has previously supported the making of Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light, The Surge, The Surge 2, Evolve, Batman: Arkham Origins, Tarzan 3, Darksiders 3, The Remnant: From the Ashes, Destroy All Humans 2 : Reprobed and many more.
It is therefore a strategic acquisition, which will undoubtedly offer benefits for the realization of the games of the studios of the THQ Nordic stable.
