Launched in Early Access on Steam with Japanese language support only, Wizardry: The Five Ordeals of 59 Studio was finally updated to also support the English language. In this way it becomes easily usable even by the western public. Consider that previously the only selectable language was Japanese.
This is hardly surprising, given that the franchise continues to be successful especially in the East, while in the West it has been fairly forgotten. Let’s see a gallery of images with the game texts translated into English:
To celebrate the news, Wizardry: The Five Ordeals is currently 15% off on Steam.
Naturally, the translation concerns only the official scenarios. For those unfamiliar with it, Wizardry: The Five Ordeals is a first-person dungeon crawler a la Dungeon Masters in which you can face five different scenarios. It is designed for the most hardcore players, i.e. those who do not disdain a classic challenge. It was created by the same developers who worked on the series in 2006 (although the franchise goes back much further). It’s basically the same game, but redone using the Unity engine.
