Microsoft has announced that it has made available for the Xboxes Alpha & Alpha Skip Ahead Insiders a new feature, dedicated to new icons for game library on consoles.
It’s about symbols that appear within the box of the Xbox game cover: this is not completely new, as they are already used to indicate things like optimization for Xbox Series X|S or the presence of the game on Xbox Game Pass.
But now they have been added new icons which signal other possible “conditions” of the game. For example, a new logo will appear indicating that the game was installed from a disc but that disc is now not inserted. Or, a certain icon indicates that the game is installed, but is no longer playable, perhaps because it has been removed from Xbox Game Pass.
Eden Marie of Xbox shared an image, which you can see above in the tweet, showing some of these logos. You can see that of the disc in the covers of Far Cry 6, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance and the logo of the impossibility to launch in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2.
As always, this is a feature that won’t be available to regular Xbox gamers for some time. Among the recent Xbox news for Insiders there is also the addition of Discord voice chat.
